learning from my kids

A friend of mine keeps reminding me that I need to "live in the moment".
See, I'm a bit of a worrier.

I know I shouldn't.
I know it doesn't help anything.
I know it takes away my joy for today.

But I still do it.

I won't even tell you the things I worry about.
It would be too embarrassing.

But I will tell you that most of my worry revolves around my kids.
Obviously.
What mom doesn't.
My kids are healthy and happy right now.
That is huge.

So today I choose to live in the moment.
And not worry about what might (or what I know will) happen tomorrow.

I will enjoy watching them making their own choices.
Having fun.
Living.
Laughing.
Loving.
And maybe I can learn to follow their examples....

This is why I both want and don't want kids.

That and the fact that they back talk. Is it still legal to hit them?

Yep. I'll just go turn myself in to CPS.

Your kids are healthy, happy, and so cute! It is hard not to worry especially as a mother!

worrying it all part of the job .. however.. if you can take a vacation from worrying you'll do yourself a favor.. even if only for a day or two.
You have a gorgeous family btw!!! :)

Some days are definitely better than others for relaxing and living in the moment!

It's hard not to worry, but hopefully they'll only make little mistakes to learn from, not big ones! Good luck!

Such seemingly simple advice, but so hard to do sometimes.

When I can accomplish it, it is a blessing!

OH Tori, just came from another friend's blog and she's confessing to chronic worrying. We all do it. Part of being a parent. Mine are in their 20's but I still worry about work and relationships, driving, diet . . it's a mother's lot I think. We just have to take it in our stride. THIS is something I'd tell a young couple before they contemplate having children. It's not like buying a puppy, kids, no matter their age are a lifetime (and wonderful) commitment. Worry's all part of the program.

You're not the only Mom. However, I do agree with your friend. Live in the moment. I now know what it means whe my Mom would say, "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it." :-)

This is beautiful. It's only natural to worry, I think... but you definitely need to remember to enjoy it all, too! :-)
